With concern over the rollout of body scanner technology at airports across the world we decided that a website needed to be built that would allow travellers concerned about the health and security risks presented by these machines to be able to locate airports using them.

Developed using the Laravel PHP framework we combined our own in-house dataset with the flexibility and power of the Google Maps API to deliver an interactive experience that would allow users to locate airports using body scanner technology by continent or country.

The Twitter API was also used to pull in tweets concerning news and developments involving the use of such technology at airports worldwide.

Key features of the website include:

  • Optimised for mobile and tablet using a responsive design UI
  • Custom search feature for articles and locations
  • Remote data integration with the Google Maps API
  • Embedded tweets using the Twitter API
